L*A*M*P features top speakers from all aspects of the music industry. We've been honored to feature over 300
amazing speakers in the past two years, including: Anne Litt Host of "Weekend Becomes Eclectic" KCRW
Anne Litt hosts the popular Weekend Becomes Eclectic show on KCRW, which airs
every Saturday and Sunday from 2-5PM. Litt's take on programming has changed since September 11. "I have been trying to play the music that feels good," she
says. "I want it to be a more positive than it used to be without compromising the quality of the music." Litt began
her career at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she was a DJ for the college station WXYC.
Throughout her career she has done a variety of things related to being a music programmer including working for
Mammoth records, being a DJ for various radio stations, and supervising music for the Warner Brothers series "Glory
Days." Like most of the hosts at KCRW, Litt works as both a DJ and a music programmer. As a DJ, she literally puts the
music onto the air, but as a music programmer she decides what songs would best fill the particular show's
personality. Litt says that one of the biggest differences between working for KCRW and working for other radio
stations is that she has total creative freedom over her show. Litt can play songs as obscure as a demo, as popular as
the latest Sheryl Crow single, or as forgotten as a track from ten years ago. DAN KIMPEL: Acknowledged as one of the American media's foremost authorities on pop music and songwriting, Dan Kimpel contributes to a dizzying variety of print and electronic
